Ally McCoist's Pick for Chelsea Boss

Ally McCoist's Pick for Chelsea Boss

There has been a ton of speculation about who is going to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge next season. Ally McCoist, former Scottish Footballer, sat down with talksportbet.com and gave his two cents on the topic. If you've played a FIFA game in the last ten years you may recall his voice as you went one-on-on with the keeper. He spoke about the oddity of firing Mauricio Pochettino after the successful campaign Chelsea had. McCoist also compared hiring Kieran McKenna to that of Graham Potter, stating:

"I thought Graham Potter would have been a good option at the time, so do Chelsea go left-field for someone like Kieran McKenna again? It would be a ridiculous gamble if they were to appoint him considering how little experience he has. He’s done a great job with Ipswich in the Championship, but Chelsea is a completely different kettle of fish."

I agreed with his assessment of Kieran McKenna and made the same comparison myself in article:

Then, Ally McCoist went on to endorse one manager in particular for the job. He said:

“I initially thought Roberto De Zerbi was going to Juventus, but he’d probably be my pick to take over at Chelsea considering the squad that they have. I don’t think there’s any other outstanding candidates, which makes it a bizarre decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino in the first place, but De Zerbi would be my number one given the circumstances.”

Ironically, Graham Potter was hired at Chelsea from Brighton two years ago and look how that turned out. Chelsea also signed Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo for far more than they are worth from Brighton. Call me superstitious, but I don't want Chelsea to take anything from Brighton anymore. They had more luck taking from Leicester City with N'golo Kante and they should have snagged Maddison before Tottenham got him.

What are your thoughts? Should the next manager be Roberto De Zerbi, or do you prefer someone else?
